Just when we thought Chicago was gentrifying to the max and that there was no more affordable room for artists to keep studios, we found out about The Splat Flats. A group of 28 emerging Chicago artists call these 28 studio spaces, divided among two buildings above L. Miller and Sons Lumber, home. Costing less than $300 per month to rent, with high ceilings and natural light pouring in, these spaces are a dream for the working artist.
