Friar Tuck's may look a little odd, being the only keg-shaped doorway on the long Broadway district of shops and bars, but watch out for the karaoke crowd on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
If you can get over the fact it looks like you're walking into a large container of beer, the hardly visible windows, and the karaoke night seating issues, it's definitely worth the trip. Locals in their 20s gladly take to the mike in front of a packed room of beer-loving patrons for the fun singalongs. Even the cast of "Tony and Tina's Wedding" has been known to stop by and belt out a few tunes.
Beware of the noise factor - it's not the best place for a deep conversation. Tuck's isn't too modern or hip -- it doesn't have a fax machine and just got a touch-tone phone behind the bar -- but it's a good time.
