This Wrigleyville edition of the chain is the ideal post-game destination for those fans who have a yen for libations with fancy-pants names. Examples of these drinks include the Pineappletini, a combination of Dekuyper tropical pineapple, Ketel one citron, and a splash of pineapple juice topped with… a wedge of pineapple. I bet you didn’t see that one coming did you?
The drink that had my taste buds salivating was the Banana split martini. But alas, the drink was a little out of my price range. If you are more serious drinker, you will definitely enjoy Bar Louie’s collection of Blondes, Redheads and Bubbly (that’s white wine, red wine and champagne to you and me).
The late kitchen hours enable you to have some solid finger food, or even a whole meal, while you wolf down one of the forty different beers on tap or in the bottle. The jukebox has all of the latest hits, plus some old classic rock favorites and even a surprising amount of indie rock. And what would a Wrigleyville area bar be without paraphernalia of a certain Chicago baseball team?
Stylistically speaking, the high ceilings and wood-paneled bar give Bar Louie a feeling of an open-spaced, locally embraced tavern. If you make Bar Louie your stop for post-Cubs shenanigans (or any other kind of shenanigans, for that matter), you will undoubtedly feel the same.
Average cost: $10-$20
