Black Heart Procession, Bellini, The Poison Arrows |
|
Pitchfork described Black Heart Procession's latest album, Six, as "rock'n'roll for Cormac McCarthy," and we'd have to agree. Despite its roots in sunny San Diego, the group revels in dark, yet still tuneful treatments of indie rock. Pall Jenkins's spooky ramblings on "Rats" would've been appropriate for many a Halloween show, while "Witching Stone" seems comparatively upbeat - until you see the video, at least. If you're feeling a bit of the winter blues coming on, this show won't help rouse you - but it'll fit your mood perfectly. (Ben Rubenstein)
