Five things to do in Chicago, from the obvious to the absurd.

Chicago Air & Water ShowHigh-flyin' fun on the lakefront at the Air & Water Show.
Bicycle Film Festival
Through Sunday in various venues, $10 per screening, $25 for a festival pass
Bike, movie and art enthusiasts come together for this five-day show throughout the city. Some of the highlights (full schedule here) include Thursday's Joyride Art Show (6 p.m. at the MCA Warehouse), Friday's Fun Bike Shorts (9 p.m. at Columbia College) and Saturday's afterparty at The Empty Bottle with DJs Matt ROAN and E-Six (9 p.m., free with movie admission).

Chicago Air & Water Show
10 a.m.-4 p.m., Saturday and Sunday at North Avenue Beach, free
Yeah, it's gonna be crowded. And it'll probably be hot and humid. But how could you miss the awe-inspiring maneuvers from these amazing pilots (and their eerily futuristic aircrafts)? The best views are at North Avenue (including a play-by-play) but you can get a good view from anywhere along the lakefront. For a guaranteed great seat, check out the deals at Oak Street Beachstro.

Chicago Turkish World Festival
10 a.m.-10 p.m., Saturday and Sunday at Navy Pier Might want to leave the Borat costume at home for this one. The weekend-long festival celebrates the cultures of Central Asia (yes, including Kazakhstan) through food, dance and art. Check out authentic Turkish artwork and souvenirs while sipping Turkish coffee and sampling other delicacies. And demonstrations by the Turkish traveling troupe "The Whirling Dervishes of Rumi" can't be missed.

Green Music Fest
Saturday and Sunday at Eckhart Park (1330 W. Chicago Ave.), noon-11 p.m., $11.50-$25
Just think, an entire weekend festival with zero carbon footprint. At least, that's the goal at this event, where all the vendors are earth-friendly (recylced crafts and solar-powered devices will be on offer) and the music is earth-shaking. If you do nothing else, check out Saturday headliner Art Brut, who are known for a great live show. Lucero headlines on Sunday.

Power Wheels Racing LeagueGentlemen, start your ... Power Wheels.
Power Wheels Racing Series
noon-7 p.m. Saturday at the Pumping Station (3506 N. Sacramento Ave.)
It's like NASCAR, only with less noise and really, really small cars. Teams modify and soup up their Power Wheels and put them through a series of tests that range from the grueling Grand Prix of Logan to a polo match, all hoping to be crowned king of the little wheels. Add in DJs, food and drinks and you got yourself a day at the track.

Just missed the cut: Windy City Ribs Festival, The Pony birthday party, North Side Summerfest, Yo-Yo Ma, AC/DC,
