Jerry's Sandwiches Review
me and my husband was traveling on the Amtrack 10/30/2008 and we had a 3hr lay over to Detroit and his cousin wanted to take us to soul food resturant but they where not serving food until 3pm so we happen to pass jerrys deli and i said lets stop there. I ordered the black bean soup and my husband order the ribeye soup and i also oreder a wille D sandwich oh my God this was the best soup and sandwich ever. So when we arrived in Detroit. All i could think about is when we return back on our way home to Kansas City Mo. and we would have another 3rd layover i know i had to get to Jerry Deil for my Willie D sandwich since we did not have no one to take us there what we did is lock up our lagguage and we took off walking real fast to Madison st to order Willie D sandwich and make it back to the train station in time not to miss our train. We open them sandwichs on the train and the whole train was smelling good it was sure worth the fast walk. I can not waite until i come back to Chicago just to visit Jerry Deli. Barb Dodson

Smak Tak Review
The Hungarian-style pancake is also worth noting. Serious good! Great value too, esp. being BYOB. Go hungry, leave in a wheelbarrow.

Chickpea Review
If you’re looking for amazing food and a warm, inviting atmosphere – Chickpea is the place to go. This place has a lot going for it. First of all, it’s a great value. You can actually get a high-end, gourmet and most important, delicious meal for under $10. In fact, everything I’ve tasted there has been outstanding. It’s clear that every dish is fresh, authentic and carefully prepared resulting in flavors that are simple and complex all at the same time. The presentation and service are spot on. And if you look hard enough, I’m sure you could amuse yourself with the subtle social, cultural and maybe even political irony hinted at in the décor – but if that’s not your thing, it’s easy enough to relax in the warmth and charm that is Chickpea. A place like this is long overdue in Chicago and I for one plan to make up for lost time by going back time and time again!

Chicago Center for the Performing Arts Review
I can truly say I enjoyed the comedy show I attended in October 29, 2008. Hilarious, great comedy. The lady at the door told me I would enjoy this show and I surely did. All the comedians were great and especially Krazy Katie. What a laugh. Thanks to this producer, I surly had a memorable moment.

Raffaele Fine Italian Dining Review
The food was authentic and very, very good; the wait staff was observant and attentive. The owner's were also attentive and interested in our feedback! Superior food, superior ambiance -- this is a place we'll be coming back to again and again! Prices, by the way, were less than we noted on Rosebud's menu which we would have gone to had they honored a previiously made and confirmed reservation. As it turned out, had they nort been so obtuse and indifferent, we would never have found Raffaele's.

May St. Cafe Review
Was just there on Saturday night. My wife and I always eat early. Not packed, good vibe and delicious food. Had the steak and the owner Mario brought it out to me before he cooked it. It wasn't cheap but it wasn't over the top either. Hey, I didn't expect it to be that inexpensive. Good time, good food with the wife and it was well worth it.

Schwa Review
We had a great meal and a delightful time. If you are a true foodie you MUST have the 9 course option. The three course does not scratch the surface of Michael's genius. Despite the hectic atmosphere they seem to keep it all together and the presentations are very nice and the blend of flavors fantastic. Two criticisms are: the parking is very difficult and the restaurant though lively is a bit noisy due to the music. Not entirely a negative as it seems to bring in the motion of the servers and the impact of the meal all together.

Smoke Daddy Review
Strolled in at 1 pm Saturday with my daughter. We went with the Taste of the Daddy, baby backs with pulled brisket and pork, cole slaw and mac & cheese. The beef was tender and moist, the pork was easily some of the best around. Mac & cheese lived up to it's rep of being tremendous and the cilantro cole slaw was surprisingly tasty. So here's the weird thing. The ribs were excellently prepared, but for some reason they had a bit of a nauseatingly over-smoked flavor. Bizarre complaint I know, but I'll definately return and will probably try the ribs again. My guess is that the best bet will prove to be a pulled pork sandwich. On my visit, service was good, college football was on multiple easily viewable flat screens and I had an overall lovely time.

I appoligised one to many times for taking up there tabel. They were so understanding! Not upset at all even though they were very busy. When my friend arived they brought bread all home made, eggplant marinated in oil, home made foccia and didnt feel rushed at all! We had the best dinning experence ever. The room is comfortible the music is fun the servers know there stuff and the food is the most amazing part of the night!!!I cant wait to tell all my friends and look forward to my next visit!!

Trader Vic's Review
Going to Chicago just got better, cuz Trader Vic's is back (finally!). Great food, rather pricey but well worth it. I've been eating at Vic's for over 30 years. Highly recommend any meat entree (especially beef, they marinate their meat for 24 hrs. so it just melts in your mouth). Sometimes my husband and I go and make a supper of the apps. Favs are cosmo tidbits and crab rangoon (they alone are worth a plane trip to the Windy City). Forget about Chicago style pizza...go to Vic's for a real dining experience. Your tastebuds will bless you for the experience. Fave drink...menehune juice. This seemingly harmless nectre of the Gods will creep up on you so drink these in moderation. Yummy! Welcome back Trader Vic's, you were sorely missed!

Franco's Ristorante Review
Amazing atmosphere, food, service. Real quiet, but with good choice of ambient music, nice lighting, and warm. Excellent wine list, and the food was delicious! Real personal waiting and a pleasure being there. Highly recommended from friends, and I too pass along a strong suggestion to enjoy Franco's Ristorante.

Italian Fiesta Pizzeria (Hyde Park) Review
Italian Fiesta is the best around - it has never changed in all the years that I have been eating at the establishment - which goes way back - when they had a sit down restaurant at 79th & Avalon across from Sears. It was a great treat to go shopping at Sears and then cross the street and sit down and go to the soda cooler and get your selection of cold bottle pop and wait for your order to be delivered at your table and eat. Once you completed your meal, you returned to used pop bottle in the crate. The good old days of having thin square size pizza slices to enjoy. The recipe remains the same - but there is a wait to call for your orders now.

Osteria Via Stato Review
My husband and I dined here last Saturday night. We weren't starving, so opted not to dine family style (way too much food!). We each order the caesar salad, which was marvelous! It was served crispy cold, with just the right seasoned dressing and lots of luscious shaved paremesean. We also each ordered the Paparedelle with meat sauce - I had the half order, he had the full - and neither of us could finish! The meat sauce is dark, rich and beefy, the pasta perfectly tender. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and can't wait to get back to Chicago to return to our favorite restaurant!
